How are Third Person Consulting and Out of Scope Productions related?
Third Person Consulting owns and operates Out of Scope Productions. TPC is the consulting practice; OOSP is our scenario studio, which makes Project: Countdown!, the other games and the Database. When you work with TPC, OOSP's scenarios and research are part of what we bring.
Are we too small to need this?
No. A one-person practice that works with contractors needs the same basics as a large firm, at a much smaller scale: a few procedures for the work that can hurt you, a way to check contractors, hold points before work is covered up, and a learning plan. Our free Quick Start Brief, The Practice of One, is a good place to start, and a scoped engagement can be as small as a single workshop.
Do you do change management?
Not as a service of its own. We focus on the blind spots, processes and best practices that a change depends on, and we work alongside your change or project team where you have one.
What does "SCORM course" mean for us?
Your pilot scenario is packaged as a standard e-learning course file, so it runs in most learning management systems and stays yours after the platform year ends. No LMS? We can provide one through our training partner.
Can you work across several departments at once?
Yes, and that's often where the biggest gaps are. We look at how engineering, operations, safety, IT and other teams handle the same work, and where their procedures and training meet.
How do you know if it worked?
We agree a baseline before we start. At 30, 60 and 90 days we check early signals in the work itself: is the new way being used, and are errors and rework moving? Ninety days is a feasibility check, not proof. Results such as quality, safety and cost take 6 to 12 months to show, and where we can we compare with a team that hasn't changed yet. Satisfaction scores and self-ratings alone don't tell you whether anything changed.
Are your recommendations just opinions?
Each one cites an entry in the Database, with its sources, its evidence tier and its limits. Where the evidence is thin or contested, we say so.
Can you get through our vendor onboarding?
We're a new firm, so some items are still in setup. The procurement section lists company details, privacy, accessibility, security, delivery, insurance and contracts, and marks every item that isn't in place yet.
